Do I want to start therapy?
For most people, the decision to talk with a psychotherapist is not taken lightly. Not knowing what the experience will involve is, naturally, somewhat anxiety-provoking for most people. The purpose of the information provided here is to give you an idea of what to expect before, and as we start, working together.
If you aren’t sure if you are ready to start therapy or if what I do will suit you, feel free to phone or come and see me for an hour (at no charge) so you can ask questions and get a sense of whether you might be comfortable talking to me. You can reach me on 0431 170 589 or firstname.lastname@example.org
How much therapy will I need?
That depends on a number of things: what your goals are, the number and type of traumatic or distressing experiences that occurred in your life, when they happened and what else was happening in your life at the time and a number of other things. While it’s not possible to predict with any certainty, I may be able to give you an idea whether it’s more likely to be more short-term, medium-term or long-term.
